Dry risers

One of our main areas of business is the design and installation of dry riser systems. All our projects are up to the requirements of BS EN 3 9990 Dry Risers and the Building Regulations. We carry out installation throughout Central Scotland.

The purpose of the dry riser is to provide a water supply for the fire brigade in case of an emergency. They can be installed at every level of a building to extinguish or prevent the spread of a fire.

Here at Phoenix we can design, supply and install riser systems in accordance with BS 5306 part 1. We recommend to consult the local fire brigade about their exact requirements before the installation.

Testing and maintenance

It is the property owners responsibility to do the annual testing and maintenance of dry risers. The national standards recommends that dry risers are visually inspected every 6 months and serviced annually. A full wet test should be carried out annually.

Our highly qualified staff specialise in the servicing of dry risers. We ensure that all of our works are provided using top quality equipment and up to British standards.

We carry out pressure testing of the riser to ensure that in the event of a real fire, the equipment is working to its full capacity to extinguish the fire quickly and efficiently.
